TL;DR
The Reprint Items screen now improves sticker reprinting for users who reprint a high volume of item stickers using a fixed template. The primary change is that users can configure a default reprint template once, and that template is automatically selected on the main screen for every scan or CSV upload. This removes the need to select the same template again and again, so users can continue scanning items one after another.
As a secondary improvement, when the default template is already selected, reprinting is triggered automatically after a serial code scan or CSV upload — without requiring the user to review the sticker image and click the print button each time.
Users can also choose a template ad hoc whenever needed for a specific scan or CSV upload.
Why
This change solves the pain point for users who reprint stickers in high quantities with a fixed reprint template. Instead of selecting the same template for every item, users can set the required template once and continue scanning serial codes or uploading CSVs. The configured default template is automatically selected on the main screen, and when a template is already selected, the sticker is reprinted automatically without an additional print-button click. If a different template is needed for certain items, users can temporarily change the template from the main screen without changing the global/default configuration.
Key behavior
- This flow is for reprinting stickers, not first-time sticker printing.
- If Select Different Template toggle in Reprint Screen’s configuration is OFF:
- The system follows the usual reprint behavior and identifies the template based on what was originally printed for that item.
- If only one template was previously used for printing/ reprinting the same serial code, the user can review the template auto-selected by the system and then click Print.
- If multiple templates were earlier used for printing/ reprinting the same serial code, the user must choose the required template from the dropdown before reprinting.
- If Select Different Template toggle in Reprint Screen’s configuration is ON:
- The user can configure a default template for reprinting.
- The default template is automatically selected on the main screen, so the user can keep scanning/uploading without selecting the template again and again.
- As a secondary improvement, when a template is already selected, the user can scan/upload and the sticker reprints automatically without clicking the print button.
- The user can temporarily choose another template for a specific scan/upload. After reprinting, the selection reverts to the configured default template.
- If no default template is configured while Select Different Template is ON, the user must select a template on the main screen before each scan/upload.

⚠️
Please note, the default reprint template is a device-level configuration. It must be configured once on each device where reprinting screen is used.
